Carl Palmer Dail, Jr.

CP Dail, JR  Director and Treasurer of USBI since 2007   CP Dail, JR

C.P. Dail Jr. passed away at his home in Ashburn, Virginia on April 10, 2014. Born on March 1, 1940 and raised in Wynne, Arkansas.  He was the son of Carl and Alma Dail. He graduated from Arkansas State Teachers College (now UCA) in 1964.  From college he started working for the American Red Cross (ARC) in Memphis in the Water Safety Division.  He then moved to   Washington DC and was the National Safety Director where he revised the ARC First Aid Manuals.  He then moved to Germany for 8 years where he worked for the European Red Cross in Water Safety Instruction for the American military posts. After returning to the States he continued to work on the national staff of the ARC for a total of 44 years.


He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his sons Mark and wife Marilyn; Mike and wife Tracy; grandchildren Matthew Dail, Heather Dail, Caroline Dail and  McCall Dail all of Conway AR,  Janet Dail of Conway- mother of Mark and Mike, his  brother David and wife Martha of Little Rock AR and stepfather Charles Neal of Euless, TX.


He enjoyed traveling the world and was a huge sports fan. His favorite team was the Washington Redskins. He loved photography and took many pictures of his family and travels. He had a great love for the movies, music, and cruising in his convertible mustang. He had a great since of humor and always enjoyed a good joke. He will be missed greatly.


A funeral mass will be held at 11am Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Conway.  Internment of ashes will be at the St. Joseph Columbarium following the mass.


In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the American Red Cross National Headquarters 2025 E. Street Washington DC 20006 or St. Joseph School Endowment PO Box 72 Conway, AR 72033.
